Sculpted Silence - Kicks

$300.00

Sculpted Silence reimagines worn sneakers as sculptural artifacts suspended outside of time. Through the use of plaster and reclaimed materials, objects originally designed for movement are transformed into static forms that exist purely for contemplation.

Footwear is inherently connected to motion, identity, and daily ritual. Once coated in plaster, however, the sneakers are rendered unusable — no longer capable of carrying weight, touching pavement, or echoing the sounds of movement. Their original purpose is intentionally removed, leaving behind only the physical imprint of what they once were.

The series examines ideas of transformation, consumption, and permanence by shifting familiar objects from the world of utility into the realm of sculpture. Signs of wear, folds in the fabric, and traces of past movement remain visible beneath the textured surface, preserving fragments of the object’s history while simultaneously concealing it.

Minimal in palette yet rich in presence, the works balance raw materiality with refined restraint. The plaster introduces a sense of weight and silence, turning culturally recognizable forms into quiet, architectural compositions. Detached from their everyday function, the sneakers take on a new identity — one centered on memory, stillness, and form rather than performance.
