Sculpted Silence - Vase
Sculpted Silence reinterprets the vase as a sculptural object caught between function and permanence. Through the application of plaster, a form traditionally intended to contain and display life is transformed into a sealed, silent presence — no longer capable of fulfilling its original purpose.
Associated with fragility, ritual, and domestic space, the vase carries an intimate familiarity. Encased in plaster, however, it becomes inaccessible and fixed in time. Its opening is obstructed, its utility erased, leaving behind only the essence of its silhouette and material memory.
The work investigates the relationship between transformation and stillness, elevating an everyday object beyond its practical role. The plaster surface softens and obscures details while preserving traces of the original structure beneath, creating a dialogue between concealment and preservation. Through this process, the object shifts from something functional into something contemplative.
Minimal in appearance yet emotionally resonant, the piece emphasizes texture, form, and absence. Removed from the context of daily use, the vase becomes a quiet architectural presence — one that invites reflection on impermanence, memory, and the beauty found in restraint.

By immobilizing the object and denying its intended use, Sculpted Silence reveals how silence itself can alter perception, transforming an ordinary vessel into a lasting meditation on form and disappearance.
Each edition is conceived as a tonal philosophy:
Ivory — a refined mineral white, echoing alabaster and bleached limestone. It carries a sense of quiet opulence, like museum plaster casts or ancient relics reinterpreted in contemporary form.
Ebony — a deep, absorptive black finish where the sculptural surface emerges only under grazing light. It suggests lacquered obsidian and architectural voids, emphasizing depth over visibility.
Warning
Because each artwork is handmade, every piece is unique and may differ slightly from the photos.
